Dr. Bardia Amirlak, M.D., F.A.C.S is a triple–board certified plastic surgeon and a member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Board of Plastic Surgery, and the American Society of Plastic Surgery.
Trained in both cosmetic and reconstructive surgery, Dr. Amirlak offers state-of-the-art care, with individual attention that optimizes every patient’s results. Dr. Amirlak is an associate professor of plastic surgery, the director of the Residency Cosmetic Clinic, and the medical director of the world-class Plastic Surgery Clinic at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas and its satellite offices in Frisco. He frequently lectures nationally and internationally on rhinoplasty techniques to other surgeons and is the director of the renowned Annual Dallas Cosmetic Surgery Symposium hands-on training workshop, where hundreds of national and international plastic surgeons attend to learn detailed and up-to-date cosmetic surgery techniques. He is also a faculty teacher at the annual Dallas Rhinoplasty Symposium, which has been one of the cornerstones of rhinoplasty education in the United States.
Dr Amirlak has authored book chapters and articles in the areas of rhinoplasty and septoplasty, including those published in the textbook Dallas Rhinoplasty and in the Journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He is the corecipient of the 2010 first-place presentation prize of The Rhinoplasty Society. He is also a peer reviewer for the official Journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and serves on the editorial boards of several scientific journals.
His current rhinoplasty research at the University of Texas Southwestern includes working on improving aesthetic rhinoplasty results and patient satisfaction utilizing 3D imaging, 3D model printing, evaluating and choosing the ideal nasolabial angle using computer-generated 3D models, Middle Eastern rhinoplasty, and septoplasty as it is related to migraines and breathing problems.
After completing 5 years of general surgery residency at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, Dr. Amirlak completed a fellowship in hand and microsurgery at the renowned Kleinert Institute at the University of Louisville in Kentucky and then a plastic and reconstructive surgery training program at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He trained directly with the world-renowned rhinoplasty surgeon Dr. Bahman Guyuron. His rhinoplasty technique is a merge of the Cleveland and Dallas techniques and provides the ideal mix of emphasis on natural beauty of the face and the most up-to-date modern precision rhinoplasty practices.
